Qatar Airways is taking steps to better its customer relations. They have updated their mobile app so that passengers can get updates and plan their travel comfortably. The mobile app is also available in Arabic. The new updates help minimize the physical contact and interactions in the travels. App users now have a personalized home screen. It presents relevant information regarding the travels and flights.
There is a ‘my trip’ feature on the home screen. It will highlight all the stages of the travel journey and present information on the upcoming flight. Special offers that are tailor made according to the user’s location will be displayed on the home screen making it easier for the user to make a booking.
Akbar Al Baker, the Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group has said that they have refreshed the Qatar Airways mobile app to make it a perfect travel companion for their passengers. Now their passengers have more control over their travel plans. The app will keep them informed at all times plus mention all the recent details like the weather of the location they are in and they are travelling to.
He further adds that the app prominently presents the ‘MyTrips’ feature on the home screen, thus passengers can select their preferred seat and meals before boarding, check-in online itself, download their boarding pass to a mobile wallet, and generate a baggage tag to print and attach their luggage. All this can be done when they are still home.
There is a camera tool in the app to allow passengers to capture a photo of their passport or payment card. They do not have to manually enter the information while buying a ticket or any service. Members of the Privilege club that comes under Qatar Airways’ loyalty program can use the app to log in with fingerprint or facial recognition, book a trip using Cash + Qmiles, redeem Privilege Club awards, and manage their accounts. They will also get 1,000 Qmiles when they download the mobile app.
